Food Link - Sustaining our Community

Initiated by local community member Amy De Paola, and established with donations from two local foundations, Food Link is engaging local hospitality businesses to produce nutritious meals for our communities most vulnerable members. Assisting one of the industries most impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and tackling the issue of food insecurity for our communities most vulnerable.

Food Link does this by using cash donations to purchase meals from a variety of local hospitality businesses. Meals are distributed by a number of local welfare agencies who support our communities most vulnerable and had identified food insecurity as a major issue as a result of COVID-19. Meals are distributed to individuals and families in the Greater Shepparton region - including the homeless and families of local school children through a number of schools health & wellbeing programs.

The program has been sustained across more than 3 months using funds donated by individuals and businesses in our local community - what a fantastic way for our community to rally around the local hospitality industry and provide nutritious meals to those most in need.
