Happy COVID - 40th Ed!

The current restrictions due to COVID-19 have seen many changes to the ways we in which we socialise with our friends and family - large scale celebrations, with friends and family have been put on hold, delayed, postponed indefinitely. Phrases like ‘meet me at the Food Store for birthday drinks’ have given way to - ‘let catch up for zoom drinks tonight?’ or ‘join my Watch Party for live music tonight’.

Despite the current restrictions we have enjoyed the innovative ways you have continued to celebrate your special milestones - care packages delivered to loved ones, online wine tasting, small group celebrations (quality not quantity as they say). We love that you are making sure these milestones are still celebrated, creating special memories for all the right reasons.

We are also celebrating a very special milestone at The Collective, our very own Ed has turned 40 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY ED!!

You will usually find Ed at the Food Store - researching all the delicious craft beers and wines we stock (he especially likes tasting all the new brews!), he also manages the front of house team, navigating all of the new restrictions and requirements for the business and lends his creative hand to our producer ‘blackboard of fame’ (despite a fear of heights!).

Of course we are celebrating Ed’s birthday with cake (and a wine or beer) - and I’m sure there will be a few special gifts, BUT in the spirit giving, we would like to extend our celebrations to you, our customers - to say thank you for all your support over the last few months - as like Ed you are one of the key ingredients in what make the Food Store and Teller our favourite place to celebrate!

For the next 40 $100 vouchers purchased, we will be including a bonus $15 voucher - this offer will extend until July 31st, or until all 40 vouchers are purchased. Vouchers can be purchased in person at either the Food Store or Teller or online HERE

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ED!!

(Vouchers are valid for 3 years and can be used across any of our venues, for all products and services that we offer.)

Happy birthday Ed!

Food Link - Sustaining our Community

Initiated by local community member Amy De Paola, and established with donations from two local foundations, Food Link is engaging local hospitality businesses to produce nutritious meals for our communities most vulnerable members. Assisting one of the industries most impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and tackling the issue of food insecurity for our communities most vulnerable.

Food Link does this by using cash donations to purchase meals from a variety of local hospitality businesses. Meals are distributed by a number of local welfare agencies who support our communities most vulnerable and had identified food insecurity as a major issue as a result of COVID-19. Meals are distributed to individuals and families in the Greater Shepparton region - including the homeless and families of local school children through a number of schools health & wellbeing programs.

The program has been sustained across more than 3 months using funds donated by individuals and businesses in our local community - what a fantastic way for our community to rally around the local hospitality industry and provide nutritious meals to those most in need.

Thanks for your support

Saying 2020 has been a challenge is a bit of an understatement. COVID-19 has thrown many a curveball and we are so grateful for the support of our local community. It has provided us with the encouragement to continue to adapt and change our business to the current and changing restrictions - continuing to promote our regions fantastic local produce and get creative in how we can bring it to you. We look forward to sharing some of these stories with you in our new newsletter format.

For information regarding our current trading hours and options for dine in, takeaway and home delivery, visit our website http://www.thetellercollective.com

Locals supporting locals

Supporting local producers and suppliers has always been at the heart of the Food Store ethos - taking the seasons best local produce and turning it into meals for everyone to enjoy. We are always looking for new ingredients to use in our dishes, to join the produce on our shelves and chalk up on our regional 'blackboard of fame'.

From apples and eggs to tomatoes and hazelnuts, our menus are dotted with goodies from across the the region. Dining with us is tasting the Goulburn Valley - and we wouldn't want it any other way.

One challenge we faced with new COVID restrictions was how to create a comparable experience for you at home.

Teller take-away, grab and go, and heat & eat options, saw us trade through the complete closure of dining in. These menus now sit parallel to dine in - as an ongoing option.

We continue to seek new ways to use local products and are currently working of a range of Food Store branded produce - we welcome your input in helping us shape our offering, and giving you more of the good stuff.

If you have 5 minutes to complete a short survey to assist in developing our range we would be most grateful https://thetellercollective.typeform.com/to/ESteVF6l it might even earn you a $20 voucher for the Food Store.

Bringing the cellar door to your door...

Sometimes in order to 'think outside the box' you need to think INSIDE the box! The Goulburn Valley really is home to some fantastic cellar doors - including Tallis WineLongleat and Wine By Sam - and our friends at Echuca Distillery are just down the road. With many of  the new COVID restrictions in places, popping out to you local cellar door for a tasting has been a challenge.

It was a joy to collaborate with these businesses recently curating a special at home wine tasting and gin & tonic set matched with hand picked Victorian artisanal cheeses. Ingrid even had the pleasure of delivering a guided tasting with a small group of customers via Zoom.

We look forward to putting together another of these selections very soon - in addition to local wines, the next selection might have something to do with CRAFT BEER, and we'll be spilling the details in one of our future newsletters. If you or your social club are interested in joining us for an online guided tasting with our next pack - just shoot us an email and we'll get you sorted.
